Imagine a magic billboard. If a restaurant is renting it, the billboard jumps right next to the road when people are hungry. If a clothing store is renting the billboard, it will specifically hop next to drivers and tell them about a new sale that’s going on, and maybe even recommend shoes they think the driver would like. If a cosmetic store was renting the billboard, it would hand out coupons to drivers stuck in traffic and even let them buy products right there on the spot. It would do this day in and day out. Never needing a lunch break or rest stop. This billboard is the most enthusiastic, tempting, and dedicated advertiser out there! He eats lame radio and newspaper ads for breakfast! How much would you pay for this tirelessly devoted billboard? Would it be a good investment for your business? It’s a no-brainer: YES!
You’ve probably caught my drift already: I’m not actually talking about magical billboards (even though that would be kinda cool). I’m talking about SEM or Search Engine Marketing, what its capable of, and how it can grow your business.
Lets take the magical billboard example even further. Imagine that it could not only jump next to the street, but it could track down past customers or even people who have shown interest in your business. Those are amazing feats of advertising Google has already mastered. They have a system called Google Ads (formerly known as Google AdWords) which will revolutionize your advertising! Here you can bid on search results and pay a small amount every time you get a user to click on your ad. If you win your bid then you get your ad displayed. Not only that, but you can set your ads to target specific people. People who fit a certain demographic, people who have been to your store before, etc., can be targeted to see your ad above any other search results. Just set your budget, sit back, and let Google’s algorithms do all the heavy lifting. That is, if your budget is fairly large. Google Ads are not the cheapest; but if you are in a stable market and know the value of good advertisement, it will be a great investment for your business.
The other tool is SEO or Search Engine Optimization . If Google Ads were chickens jacked with growth hormones, SEO would be the free range chicken. It is more meticulous and long term, but the payoff is more substantial. SEO is slower because it’s goal is to gain visitors to your website naturally (or organically). Although it isn’t USDA approved, this organic method of SEM is better for a website that is in it for the long haul. This haul is not easy either. One must be creating more content, setting keywords, and just staying up to date with all the demands of the all powerful Google. That is why it is best to find an experienced professional service, that wants the best for you and your business.
A business is only as successful as the amount of people who know about it. And if you live in the same technologically saturated era as I do, you know that people know things from the internet. People use Google search to find anything from food to toilets, so don’t be left behind. Give us a call or shoot us an email to see just how far we can take your business.
When it comes down to it, only you know how much your business can spend on SEM; but remember that when the All Web Team and an ecstatic billboard have your back, you are unstoppable!
